Acrylic or MDF wood — how to choose

We produce both, and the decision is usually about the look rather than the cost.

  • Acrylic — sharper colour, lighter, more resistant to breakage in transit. Suits detailed illustration, photographic artwork and anything where colour accuracy matters.
  • MDF wood — warmer and more tactile, with a natural finish behind the print. Suits lettering-led designs, welcome signs and rustic or farmhouse ranges where the material is part of the look.

Because both are cut and printed in the same workshop, the same artwork can be produced as a lightweight acrylic ornament for a gift line and as a larger wooden sign for retail display — without two suppliers.

What can be customised

  • Artwork — send print-ready files and we produce a free digital mock-up before cutting.
  • Shape and outline — die-cut to the artwork rather than confined to a rectangle.
  • Size — from small hanging pieces up to larger wall panels, adapted within our cutting range.
  • Mounting — hanging holes, ribbon or cord, adhesive backing or standoff fixings.
  • Packaging and private label — branded boxes, hang tags and barcodes for retail or marketplace sale.
